The 990 and 994 platforms are full-featured microcomputers designed to integrate measuring, monitoring, communicating and controlling capabilities. Each unit features up to six independent ports providing built-in control selections for PID, batch, dose, monitor or manual operation. The 990 and 994 support mixed rate-total, scalar process value measurements, and provides three co-resident ports for local and remote information communication. Data logging is enabled by the optional installation of a large permanent storage memory and the additional firmware that enables the memory to log active input port measurements. When your 990 or 994 is installed with the WAN option - logged data may be accessed remotely from anywhere in the world. Records are date-time stamped, and a real-time watchdog process assures records continue to be sequential even when power is interrupted. Operation can be completely controlled from the integral keypad, or by local or remote serial log commands that start, stop, clear, or send the logged records. The internal 128K data logging option allows record acquisition from up to six simultaneous input ports, with PC support software provided. The data sample rate can be selected as 0-999 sec/min/hrs/days/months, and records can be sent using a proprietary error control protocol, selectively formatted as ASCII or compressed binary. |

DataLink™ is provided free of charge with the purchase of a data logging option for the Model 990 or 994. It is a powerful solution that provides unattended proprietary protected information gathering. It is suitable for installation and operation with personal computers (PC) systems operating under Windows™ from 98 through NT. DataLink™ supports standard PC capabilities for communication configuration. DataLink™ provides the front end to the computer to capture and store received information from Florite instrument devices in local or remotely dispersed networks. DataLink™ receives and saves information contexts including alarm conditions, scheduled value measurement reports, and date-time stamped log records. DataLink™ automatically recognizes devices which are newly incorporated into the system, and logs-in new devices for service as part of the existing communication network. DataLink™ enables selecting whether new information from a particular device is saved appended to an existing context file, or as a newly created file. New files may selectively be named with their creation date-time or simply by a user selected name. All files are available for subsequent data processing using spread sheet programs or SQL accesses. |

Model 990 and 994 support a number of user selectable data collection methods that may be chosen to best meet the users overall system requirements. A more recent logging application was to monitor environmental variables, and record critical time dependent measurements every two seconds, requiring one milli-volt resolution. The most readily employed data collection method uses a computer with proprietary program, such as used in SCADA systems, to collect data from any one or all input port measurements. This method solicits the instrument for the information as often as the system requires, and the computer saves the data and maintains the date-time stamp. An alternate method incorporated into Model 990 and 994 instruments uses an optionally installed large internal memory, selectable record acquisition period, and real-time data-time stamped records. The collected records are stored locally in the memory - and are delivered to the computer either on a solicited basis using the logging commands, or sent as an unsolicited report at preset intervals using the internal real-time clock. Using either method - the collected input measurements include unit address sending the data, the port to which the data is associated, two quantity values, two rate/scalar values and the port service time. Commands and responses supporting either data collection method are provided as a Serial Communication Standard on Florite’s web site. |
